Making an appointment:

When you call you may speak with me directly or you may reach my confidential voice mail. I check this frequently and will try to call you back within the hour. If this is not possible, I will call you within 24 hours of receiving your call during business hours. Please state your name and number twice, and as clearly as you can. When we speak, I will be happy to answer any questions you have over the phone. If you decide you would like to meet, I will schedule an appointment with you as quickly as possible. Sometimes I am able to offer an appointment the same day we talk; if not, within a day or two or a week at most.

I consider our initial session to be a time to see if there is a good fit for us to work together in a counseling relationship. If by the end of the session you feel I may be the right psychotherapist for you, we will set up a schedule of meeting times and a fee contract. If you do not feel I can meet your needs, I will be happy to refer you to someone who will be a better fit for you.

My fee

My fee is $100 per 50 minute hour. I expect payment at each session. I do not bill insurance; however, there are some insurance companies who will reimburse for my services. I will be happy to provide you with a receipt for you to submit. It is important to note that insurance companies often require a diagnosis to be made. If you do not know what your mental health benefits are, you should contact your insurance company about their policy.

I am able to occasionally offer a sliding scale fee for ongoing clients. If you feel you cannot afford my full fee, we will work together to determine a reasonable fee.

Confidentiality:

Your privacy is of the utmost importance to me. This means I do not share information about my clients with anyone. Occasionally I obtain supervision from a qualified supervisor who is also bound by confidentiality, and with whom I never share identifying details about my clients. I schedule my appointments with a 15 minute gap in between whenever possible to ensure my clients won’t be passing each other in my waiting room. My waiting room is private and quiet, and shared by only one other psychotherapist.

Location and parking:

My office is at 811 NW 20TH Ave, Suite 301, between Johnson and Kearney. It is accessible by trolley and bus.
